President, Chief Financial Officer
Somewhere around age fourteen, I watched my father clip stock quotes from the newspaper, record them by hand, and call his trades in through a Charles Schwab broker. I asked what he was doing, and he walked me through it. That conversation planted something that would shape every major career decision I've made since.
I came into financial services the long way. My early years were in sales, starting as a personal trainer and moving into sales management. Sales suited my strengths, but chasing monthly targets started to feel incompatible with the kind of career I actually wanted to build. I transitioned into banking as a mortgage officer at Wells Fargo Financial, and it was there, through conversations with my aunt at Bank of America, that I got a clear picture of what a career in wealth management could actually look like. In 2008, I was accepted into Bank of America's Financial Advisor Pathways program, and my career in wealth management formally began. I later built my practice at Raymond James before joining OneSource, where I now serve as Chief Investment Officer.
My approach starts with a plan. Before any investment is made, I want to understand what someone is working toward, what they need from their portfolio, and what they can't afford to lose. Every morning I review market conditions and economic developments and make any adjustments to client portfolios that those conditions warrant. Every investment decision is built around each person's specific goals and circumstances, not a standard template.
One of the clients I've worked with the longest came to me in 2011, after his father passed away unexpectedly. He was in his late thirties and needed to build a lasting income stream from an inheritance rather than a career. Managing that portfolio for over a decade and watching that situation grow into genuine financial stability is the kind of result that defines what sound financial management actually means.
Outside the office, I live in Roseville with my wife, our two daughters, and a pug who fully believes he runs the house. I train Brazilian Jiu Jitsu regularly, which has a way of putting market volatility in perspective. When I'm not on the mat, I'm usually traveling or spending time with family and friends.
